This project included 77 spaces across four levels ranging from small huddle rooms to meeting spaces to high-end boardrooms and combinable function rooms. This was a greenfield site that provided a blank canvas. Videopro was the perfect choice because of our experience and expertise with the chosen ACA web-based control system that was deployed.
As Brisbane’s prominence in commercial and cultural hubs rapidly increases, PwC knew that a world-class city requires a world-class way of working. The move to 480 Queen Street was a key part of its plan to open up its business to new ideas, approaches and opportunities. PwC were looking for a complete building management system across multiple locations with the first being Brisbane followed by Melbourne, Sydney and Singapore. The system needed to integrate and operate across multiple different ecosystems and provide the same user experience regardless of location. Our ACA partnership allowed Videopro to connect and tie together all facets and present them via an internal company app and web based tablet.
This project was extremely complex and undertook nearly two years of consulting and planning to achieve the desired outcome. Specialised teams were formed to look at specific activities such as UX for creating a seamless user experience, IT and Networking Engineers for connectivity and Architecture and Interior Design for place and space considerations.
Installing high value technology during any construction phase is always a delicate act that requires considerations on when the spaces need to be available and the longevity of equipment. In today’s world of computers and all things IT, they typically require power and almost always have cooling fans.
Turning electronic items on and having the fans suck in dust can dramatically limit the life of the equipment. Videopro worked closely with all stakeholders to ensure spaces were thoroughly cleaned and dust-free prior to turning things on.
Communication is key on projects of this nature. Videopro and PwC project delivery teams were in constant communication. Daily and weekly meetings kept all stakeholders updated with progress and allowed a succinct end result that satisfied everyone’s needs.
PwC now have the most advanced office space in Brisbane and is the flagship site for understanding the SMART WORKPLACE and better ways of working. The long-term benefits are increased productivity and staff retention and talent acquisition. PwC Brisbane is the new Google office where everyone wants to work.
